SYSTEM VALUE ANALYSIS: MODEL AND EXAMPLE

Abstract Systems design, being a socio-technical discipline, is highly affected by available technologies, the global economy, state of environment, and social issues. Hence, in recent years, ultimate objective design started to shift from best-performance systems ones providing value customers, enterprises, society. This paper presents holistic concept system value, equipping stakeholders participating process with broad view this measure. The contribution includes proposal for general taxonomy, which can be used as foundation comprehensive, case-specific, model (SVM). As an all-round perspective possible only when all are represented, we suggest deploying PSI framework mapping relevant stakeholders. analysis Tesla's Model Y electrical vehicle demonstrated, test case SVM application. We conclude that detailed SVM, performed carefully chosen group diverse stakeholders, highlights less conventionally discussed aspects during decision processes, hence expected improve system's overall value.
